NORTHWEST IS IN OUR COMMUNITY IN 2009
ONGOING - - Onsite tutoring center serves 50+ kids. Groups prepare and serve food monthly at Martha's Table.
APRIL 4 - - FREE CAR WASH .........Northwest Washed 35 cars in our parking lot as a free gift to our community
MAY 30 - - Journeyman Theater Company used the church yard for a fund raiser
JUNE 12 - - Northwest gave away free copies of the bestseller "The Shack" on the street in Columbia Heights
JULY 10 - - FREE CAR WASH.......Northwest washed 65 cars in our parking lot and gave away free food.
AUGUST 29 - - Northwest has a booth at COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DAY. We served 300 cups of lemonade!
AUGUST - - The Principal of Powell was welcomed to our community in morning worship. Northwest responded to her request and placed four large planters with evergreens at the entrance of the school and bought some additional uniforms.
SEPTEMBER - - Youthnet starts 3rd year of tutoring center at Northwest. 50 kids are served each week.
SEPTEMBER 13 - - Northwest has a booth at ADAMS MORGAN FESTIVAL. We served 600 cups of water and lemonade and give "tattoos"!
OCTOBER 11 - - Northwest has a tub of drinks on 16th street and gives away 100 waters and sodas as part of "THIRSTY?" campaign
OCTOBER 28 - - 9000 postcards are mailed to our community telling more about our church
OCTOBER 30- - Northwest attends DC HEALTH FAIR where Pastor Dan entertains with his musical act and volunteers give 320 cups of coffee and cider
NOVEMBER - - Northwest establishes a new partnership with "Loaves and Fishes" to help provide volunteers for weekly soup kitchen this is in addition to the partnership we have had with Martha's Table.
DECEMBER 11 - - Northwest will host a "Holiday Celebration' in the lobby of the Woodner apartments and will provide free food, pictures with Santa, a craft workshop and live music from 4-7PM
DECEMBER 17 - - Northwest will host a Christmas reception for the teachers and staff at Powell Elementary School

The Church is the only entity that God has given to give the world a message of hope. We believe that every person is a treasure. Everything we do is designed to welcome new guests into relationship with God. That?s why we want our guests to feel welcomed and loved. Whether it?s a close parking space or a warm phone call, our goal is to remind you that you are a treasure to God.
Acts of Service
Even as Jesus Christ demonstrated a life of service, so we strive to serve our neighborhood and our community through giving of our time and resources. We have a particular interest in education and are working to impact our local schools and to empower children through tutoring and learning resources.
Overview: Northwest Community Church is a new church (est. 2006) located in Northwest Washington DC at 4100 16th Street, NW. NWCC is committed to serving in our community and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. The church is non-denominational but has an association with the Church of God in Anderson, IN.
